This photo was taken of a knitted cover with a low ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speed since the flash was active during the shot. This photo could have been better taken if the holes in the pattern were orderly arranged to make the photo more appealing to the viewer.
This photo was taken of a kitchen surface with a low ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speed since the flash was again active during the shot. This photo is lightly out of frame so to improve on this photo, It would need to be cropped and rotated to be visually pleasing to the viewer.

I have improved on the original photo by rotating and cropping parts of the photo. This edit now brings out the full texture of the surface and displays the slight reflection from the tiles.
Nabil there is some good evaluations and the work diary is now well structured... I would ask you to identify subjects which are engaging... and reflect the world of texture more. As mentioned previously think of your final portfolio. This is important e.g. how can you express texture from a laminated wooded surface which is by nature flat, it might be more appropriate to photograph the texture of bark on a tree and think of how lighting affects the outcome.. (hard light versus soft) you could visit the woods, to photograph the texture of trees, leaves, stones, etc... revisit your mind maps
