Physical Images Image Bank

Both of these photographs, created by Hannah Hoch, looks to have been created with physically manipulated items like paper which was probably traded and scratched. These photos were aleo transformed and altered to achieve its desired results such as the disproportionate body parts.

This artwork by John Baldessari manipulates images with filling subjects with colour to bring about different connotations and meanings to the photographs.

Composite Image Making Image Bank

I believe that composite images can be used to make something that is aesthetically pleasing such as the photograph below. This photo does not connote any unrealistic expectations from the general public nor does it convey any sort of false information to the people viewing. Therefore this photograph has the purpose of an aesthetic appearance without any false meaning.

However composite images can also be used to mislead. It can lead to humour or false information.

This photograph obviously is misleading. However it has been done with the intention of humour without having the general public believe a misleading source to a controversial topic.

However these photos are misleading on a controversial topic. OJ Simpson in the first magazine is in his normal colour. However the second magazine has manipulated the image to make OJ Simpson a person with a different race. This causes controversy since there is no real racial identity to him and the general public could be lead to believe that people with darker coloured skin are unacceptable and harmful people.

Documentary Photography Image Bank

These photographs, by British photographer Simon Roberts, all depict the English culture and natural beauty in the form of landscape photographs. For example, the top photograph presents an English family having a picnic on top of a building. The background has been included to also demonstrate the naturalistic beauty of Britain.

Portraiture Image Bank

These images represent portraiture sing they all involve peoples facial features and represent their facial expression. All of these images also have their own unique flourish to depict the personality of the person being photographed. For example, the photograph of the man with the paintbrush depicts his personality to be creative.

Framing Image Bank

I have chosen these pictures to be apart of my image bank for framing since all photos demonstrate a frame inside of a frame. For example, the top photo shows the foreground and background being framed together.

Movement Image Bank

I have chosen these images to be apart of my movement image bank since the shutter speed has been slowed to show the movement of different objects such as the dice above when it is thrown. It takes that path that the shutter speed blur has left behind.

Landscape Image Bank

These pictures are all landscape photographs since they present a high depth of field form the f stop setting used to take them. The f stop used would be a high f stop such as f22 or higher.

Joiners Image Bank

This picture or assembly of pictures show a guitar resting inside its case with various things around it. The colours are warm and comforting. Geometrically, this picture altogether does not work. However, with our understanding, it is clear to see that it is a picture of a guitar. This image altogether is abstract, meaning that is has me question what the picture could be clearly representing.

Shape Image Bank

Shape:

Shape is clearly represented in these pictures since each of these pictures form to make a recognisable symbol or image to the human eye. For example, the shadow of the ring is recognisable heart shape. Another example would be the swans necks which also create the shape of a heart.

Tone Image Bank

Tone:

All of these photographs tones of the different layers of an image. This is shown through the lighter areas and shadows of an image such as darker tree bark and lighter fields surrounding the tree.
