Joiners Work Diary

The way that I have created these joiners was by choosing a location of an object or person and take several photographs of the object in sections. This was done such as the sculpture below.(not all images)


After the pictures were taken, They were resized to a width of 6 cm in width and 4 cm in height with a resolution of 300. After that they were all pasted onto a separate A4 image and rearranged to create the joiner. (below)

Joiners Straight Images

This is one of my joiner images. Each individual photo was taken in a studio to obtain a clear image of the subject used. There were altogether 15 pictures takes to create this joiner. I think that this is visually pleasing since it displays the different layers and angles that was used to create this overall piece.

This is a joiner of a door that I have found during my school time. I think this photo is visually pleasing since it shows many photos that were used to create this overall image.

This is my final joiner that I have created. This was taken of a sculpture to give an aesthetic feeling to the overall picture. This is my favourite picture since it seems much more aesthetic compared to the joiner of the door above.

This picture or assembly of pictures show a guitar resting inside its case with various things around it. The colours are warm and comforting. Geometrically, this picture altogether does not work. However, with our understanding, it is clear to see that it is a picture of a guitar. This image altogether is abstract, meaning that is has me question what the picture could be clearly representing.

What is a Joiner?

In the early 1980s, Hockney began to produce photocollages, which he called "joiners," first of Polaroid prints and later of 35mm, commercially processed color prints.
